Dresslink Fashion Review

Hey guys - I'm back with another sponsored fashion post.
You all know from reading my last wishlist post, I'm a fan of the shopping site Dresslink. They have a ton of cute, inexpensive accessories - perfect for a fashion addict like me as I'm always craving new innovative styles.

Dresslink was nice enough to send me a small box of outfits and accessories! :) I'm so excited to share the items with you let's get to it!

The 3 items featured in this post are:

  1. Geometric Statement Necklace
  2. Cut Out Black Party Dress (Black)
  3. Bowknot Chiffon Blouse (Rose Red)

Just a tip: Unless you are super petite with 0 body fat, I would suggest ordering one size larger than you normally would. I'm typically a size Small in stores like Forever 21, Nordstrom, Marciano...and I wished I had tried Dresslink's outfits in size Medium since the outfits were a tad snug. So just a warning the sizes run pretty small.

Overall the outfits are great for the price - cute for casual wear or a night out with the girls. My favorite items would be their accessories - I tend to be more of an accessory girl and I found some really fun pieces that can spruce up a simple outfit. The prices for the outfits are perfect for me - I don't tend to spend too much on clothing anyway. I'm the type of girl who wears a plain tee with jeans but will dress it up with cute sunglasses, a statement necklace, and sexy booties.

If you like the styles, you can check out more on: DRESSLINK

I'm going to throw a mask on my face and finally get some beauty rest. ;) Talk to you guys later!

UrbanBodyJewelry Belly Rings

Urban Body Jewelry was nice enough to send me a package of belly rings. This post is quick try-on and review of the jewelry.

A little background - I've had my belly piercing for about ten years and I can tell you I've tried on every type of design by now. My initial motivation behind getting a belly piercing was to make sure my abs were always looking their best and to ensure I stay in shape - plus belly jewelry is just another fun way to accessorize. I always have so much fun mixing and matching colors and styles,  especially when I'm headed for the pool where I can really show off my belly!

I'm a total sucker for heart designs and rhinestones. This heart belly ring is something I would wear as an everyday staple. It's described as a 14Kt Gold Plated Heart with Cubic Zirconia gem stone designs throughout the heart. The stones give a nice sparkle but nothing too over the top. It's definitely something that would look cute with a crop top and jean shorts for a casual day out shopping.

2. Gem Dangle Belly Ring

This belly ring is a real attention getter - I've already gotten so many compliments on it. People also compliment my abs when I wear this so that's a huge pay-off! This ring is also described as having Cubic Zirconia gem stones throughout and you can really tell in this piece.

I put up a second picture so you can really see the sparkle in this one. It's such a fun party piece - I would show this beauty off at the beach or a pool party. This is sure to turn heads if you're looking for a belly ring that gets a lot of attention.

3. Neon Purple Gem Belly Ring

I love this neon purple gem belly ring! It has the right pop of color and is super comfortable, I don't even notice it's on. I love wearing this to the gym since it's a simple stud so you won't feel any movement, yet it's still super sparkly and noticeable. I just throw on a good sportsbra and workout pants, and I'm good to go.

This is also described as having a Cubic Zirconia gem. It's hard to show the detail of the purple color in this picture so you can visit their website for more details by clicking on the picture.

If you're interested, you can visit the website here to see all of their belly rings: Urban Body Jewelry Belly Rings
Which belly ring do you all like best? Let me know down in the comments section if you guys wear belly rings too!

Forever 21 Haul: Sleep Shirts and Coral Bag

Sleep shirts are my latest obsession. They're loose, oversized and are the most comfortable style of pajamas I've ever tried on. When getting ready for bedtime, I just tie my hair in a bun, throw on a sleep shirt and voila - I'm good to go. Plus they're so cute - every time my girlfriends see them, they are constantly asking me where they can find some.

I found a couple on the Forever 21 Sleepwear page and of course I became obsessed and stopped by the nearest store to see if I could find more. I ended up picking up a cute Coral & Gold Mini Clutch Bag that has the same style as the Rebecca Minkoff 5 Zip Crossbody. It's so convenient to use and for only $20 USD, I had to grab it. Sometimes you can find such great finds at Forever 21!

I'm collaborating with Dresslink because their clothing line is exactly my taste. It's all about quick, inexpensive fashion where you can purchase things and don't feel bad about wearing them once or twice. This line has pretty inexpensive items that are super cute for going out with the girls, or even on a date!

My current wishlist:

So cute right? I'm really into pop of colors and accessorizing my outfits. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and blacks but I need to start changing up my wardrobe.

Do It Yourself Essie Nail Kit

If you're like me and don't do your own nails then you know a good portion of your paycheck is spent on the luxury of going to nail salons. I have been going to nail salons for the past 10 years - I cant help myself, I just love the feeling of getting pampered and having a good foot scrub/massage.

Now that I have more expenses (one of which is a new car) it finally hit me that I need to save money on at least one of my beauty splurges. Clothes, makeup, and haircare are definitely out of the question because seriously those are female necessities I don't care what anybody says.

I've been able to spend less on food by eating smaller portions and cutting out things I don't really need (appetizers, frozen yogurt, pastries, etc.) After some thought, I decided one thing I could lessen is nail care. A lot of my girlfriends dedicate a day of the week to do their nails at home and with all of the right tools, it's definitely something I can do myself. I stopped by the Target Nail Supplies section to pick up the essentials: Nail polish, base coat, nail cutter, nail file, cuticle removers, nail polish remover, and a foot brush.

I do have to say the Sally Hansen cuticle remover is amazing! You can also use it on feet calluses as a temporary callus remover. I immediately wanted to try the Essie Gel-Setter since I usually get gel nails in the salons. I currently have the gel color Sunday Funday which is a peachy shade and fun for the beach. (See below pic)

The Essie Gel-Setter is good but I don't know if I would repurchase - it chipped after 6 days and is nowhere as near long-lasting as doing gel nails in a salon (which can last up to 3 weeks). I much prefer using regular Essie polish with a base coat and top coat - that would give me about 8 days without any major chipping. I'm still a huge fan of all Essie colors though! :)

I'm going to update with more pics if I try any new colors I get!

Cocktails & Convo Blogger Event by 365Hangers

On July 21st in Downtown, Los Angeles, I was invited to attend the "Cocktails & Convo" event by 365Hangers.

Some of the top bloggers/web entrepreneurs were guest speakers and brought some great tips on how to be successful online, whether it be blogging or owning your own online business.  The speakers were Amina Mucciolo, Chanelle Laurence, Deniz Selin, Courtney Messerli of Nasty Gal, and Moderator Wendy Bendoni.

There was such a great group of people with lots of energy and I was so excited to be apart of it all! I want to share with you all some of the things we covered:

  • Be sure to utilize all kinds of social media: Pinterest, Polyvore, Facebook, Lookbook, Chictopia, etc. The more you are exposed and seen online can only help you. Use hashtags and always add a link to your blog whenever you post anywhere.
  • Make sure to add labels. For example, if your post is about a little black dress, use a "Little Black Dress" tag. Don't forget to also label your images accordingly as this will pull up in search engine images and drive more traffic to your site.
  • Make sure your website is mobile friendly. You can work with your web developer if you need help.
  • Spend half an hour a day networking with other bloggers, commenting, and liking other posts (make sure you are honest with your likes!)
  • Frequently update your blog (I definitely need to work on this as well!) Google will deem your site as active and credible if you do.
  • Make use of Google Trends as they will help you see which posts are more popular.
  • Feel free to reach out to your favorite brands and let them know you're interested to work with them if they have a blogger program. Let them know what your blog is about and what type of audience you attract. Be creative when pitching why you are unique from other bloggers and what you have to offer. You have to sell them on you. For example, "I may not get tons of hits but I have 'X' type of audience and can influence 'Y' type of viewers..."
  • Guest post whenever possible.
We even got to enjoy some wine and goodies at the event. Pictures below:

Overall, it was a great learning experience for me as I networked with a lot of girls with similar creative interests. I would definitely love to attend any future events similar to this as I love learning from experienced bloggers and social media experts. Hope to attend many more! :)

Coral Layered Top and Black Skirt

Hi guys - another outfit post!

I went to meet some girlfriends for dinner and was in the mood for something girly and bright. I threw on a bright coral layered top and plain black tight skirt I bought from Marshalls, along with some gold chandelier earrings I grabbed from a random fashion store.

I added Steve Madden black booties and used the same nighttime makeup products as my previous blog post. A flashy color can really add a fun element to a basic outfit. :)

I decided to head to Sephora and try some of the highly rated, top selling makeup products. Here's what I picked up so far:

Look how the makeup turned out:

I tried to do a similar "Kylie Jenner" lip by taking a nude lipliner and lining slightly outside of my lips to give the illusion of plump lips. I think I did okay but hey it's cheaper than Botox right?

Nikon 1 J4 camera (in white)

For the past few months, I've been hunting for a high quality camera to take better fashion blog photos and pictures for my shopping hauls. I've been a fan of Nikon cameras ever since I purchased the Nikon 1 J1 from Groupon last year. (Click here to read my last Camera purchase post.)

You know I had to jump at the chance when I heard the Nikon J4 went on sale everywhere ranging from about $249 to $400.

I was lucky to pick up the last camera at a nearby Target for $249. Sadly I don't think there are anymore on the Target website. The cameras are also on sale at Amazon, and even the Nikon website.
I'm excited because the camera is 18.4 MP, Wi-Fi enabled, touchscreen, has High-Speed Continuous shooting, HD movie recording, and is pretty compact and lightweight. The camera definitely has a lot of features that the J1 lacks and I just felt like it was time to take it up a notch.

I just placed orders on Amazon for a MicroSD card, a tripod, a carrying case, so once all that stuff arrives, I can start snapping away. ;) Perfect timing because I'm about to do my hair color again this weekend.

Trip to Catalina

Hey all! I've been so busy mainly to spend more time with the bf and going out with the girls, but I haven't forgotten about my blog! I'm actually working with a site designer from and most likely I should have new design up in May or early June, so I'm definitely excited for that. I'm debating whether I should re-do my website to purple & floral versus a turquoise/gold mix. Who knows what'll inspire me by that time.

So back to my post...a couple of weekends ago, My bf and I went to Catalina Island. The ferry ride from Long Beach to Avalon took about an hour but I love traveling so I kept myself busy by browsing pinterest and watching Youtube vids. Here are pics:

It was so beautiful there - there is a small beachy area to relax, as well as many water attractions (parasailing, scuba-diving, kayaking, dolphin watching, etc.) I would recommend Catalina for a one-day or overnight trip if you want to go somewhere quiet and relaxing. It's not too big of a place but if you love water activities and have some extra vacation money, you'll be able to keep yourself busy.

On a side note, I've been MIA partly because I've also been doing a ton of shopping! From makeup at Sephora to shopping at Nordstrom - I have so much to share with you all!

I've also been back & forth on buying a new digital camera for all of my photos. I'm really considering the Nikon J4. I swear there's always something new to buy, isn't there? ;)

Spring 2015 Beauty Wishlist

Currently on my spring beauty wishlist are (left to right):

  • All are highly rated on Sephora which make me want them even more! The Stila liquid eyeliner has such a high rating that I may pick it up soon. I'm always experimenting with different kinds of eyeliners and nearly every blogger recommends Stila so I'm super curious to see how it holds up.
  • The Too Faced foundation is also another popular item among beauty bloggers and from what I've read, it seems to give a nice satin finish!
  •  I received the Make Up For Ever mascara as a birthday gift from Sephora and I'm so in love. My lashes are super full and long after one application - and I don't get that result with any other mascara.
  • As for the curlers, I want one in my makeup kit at home and the compact curler in my purse for touchups when I'm out.

I will do an update if I pick up any of these items! :) xoxo

I got the Michael Kors Hamilton Saffiano bag at Macy's!!

So since my last Michael Kors post, (which was like yesterday) I went over to Macy's and decided to try out the Hamilton bag in black, navy, and luggage to see which best suited me.

As soon as I tried the black with gold hardware in medium, i had to have it. I also tried the tote size but it was a little bit too large and heavy for me and since I don't carry too much stuff, I found the medium to be better suited for me. I liked the sleek black color and the purse just looked so cute paired with a casual top and jeans. It's the perfect everyday bag.

I was lucky because Macy's had a pre-sale today in-store so I received 25% off. Using my Macy's credit card also gave me an additional 20% off on whatever I charged to the card. Because this is a pre-sale, I'm picking up the purse in a few days at my local Macy's store.
Can't wait - really excited to use this bag! :)

Michael Kors Hamilton Bag

I've been thinking about getting a new everyday bag. I definitely want to save up for another Louis Vuitton - possibly the Trevi PM.

But for now, I'm just looking for just a classic purse that I could bring with me on my everyday errands, shopping trips, etc. I've been using the LV Speedy bag but honestly, it gets a bit tiring on your wrists and there are some days where I wished I had a cute shoulder bag instead.

I've been eyeing the Michael Kors Hamilton Bag lately. It seems really trendy and would go with any outfit. The only problem is I can't decide between black, navy or the luggage (camel brown) color.

Here I am below modeling the luggage color:

I'm leaning towards a black one just because I feel like it'll match every single outfit but I'll keep checking out the malls and testing out the colors. TTFN! :)

Valentine's in Vegas

My boyfriend reserved a weekend trip to Vegas for Valentine's Day which was a nice little surprise!

I didn't get to take too many pictures since it was a super quick trip but the highlights were:

1. Free entry and champagne at Hakkasan club (MGM)
2. Bought a pair of Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses at Fashion Mall Sunglass Hut
3. Valentine's dinner at Sushi Roku at Caeser Forum Shops
4. Pool at Aria

I always have such a great time when I go to Vegas - it's one of my favorite places so I can never turn down an invitation!
A few pictures below:

About to head to the Aria pool.

View from Polo Towers balcony. (Our room pic is below) Cosmopolitan has a gorgeous lounge and Aria is pretty spectacular as well, so it was nice to be nearby.

About to head out to Hakkasan at MGM. We were walking on the strip and got tickets for free admission to the club, and girls get unlimited champagne! The club has three levels and one floor plays hip hop, while the others play EDM.  Super fun night!

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day weekend! :)

Light Brown Balayage

I went into the salon early morning and wanted a change from my last balayage. (You can see that from my last blog post here.)

I asked my stylist to transform my hair into a much lighter balayage while keeping medium and dark brown pieces throughout. I showed her some photos off of Pinterest to give her ideas of what I was hoping for. Basically one of those impossibly perfect Victoria's Secret model looks.

After a couple of hours, the outcome was exactly what I wanted. I was so amazed by the pretty auburn blonde color - I can't even express it.

Here are a few photos I took:

Beige & Black Work Outfit

Put my hair in a quick messy bun and threw on a simple, comfortable outfit for work. The loose, beige top is from Forever 21. Black basic tank dress underneath is from H&M. Boots from Steve Madden.
